Performance Workshops August 24th & September 7th
Greetings performers and aspiring performers!
We have two workshops geared towards storytelling and preparing for the stage! Our instructors Charlie and Lindsey have very thoughtfully put these workshops together to help you get started or get over bumps in your routine or performance.
Making Friends with your Performing Anxiety with Charlie aka Steele Starling
August 24th
$60.00
120 minutes
2:15PM-4:15PM
This 120 minute workshop will help you connect to and understand the part of you that is terrified of performing- both for those that are performing and those that haven't gotten up the nerve yet.
It will include a little education on how to work with the nervous system as well as hands-on exploration of performing anxiety, and a little technique to fake it until you make it.
This class is ideal for level 1.5+, or other dance/movement experience!
Steele is LCSW in private practice, specializing in anxiety and trauma, primarily working with complex trauma and LGBTQIA+ people. Steele primarily does Internal Family Systems, which helps people connect with, value and work with the parts of themselves they find difficult. Steele has performed all over the country for over 10 years. He has also introduced people to like for over 10 years.

Movement & Storytelling Alignment with Lindsey aka Bubblelucious
September 7th

90 Minutes
4:30PM-6:00PM
PROMO CODE “MAKEMYSTORY10” for $10 off this workshop! Must be used before September 1st!
This workshop will teach students how to build a storyline using Freytag’s Pyramid of storytelling. Additionally, Lindsey will use the elements (earth, wind, fire, and ether) to teach students how to align their movement to the story they created. This will be a mixture of movement and lecture where students will start by building a small story (on paper or on their phones) and will then need to act out the story in small groups. Students will provide each other with feedback and will learn how to marry together movement and storytelling to enhance their routines.
Lindsey has an extensive background in dance, movement, pole and performance with a degree in theatre!
